Well crafted Ring, Rajasthan, mid 20th century

Finger ring. Traditionally rings are worn on the index finger or the last finger
as can be seen from original mughal miniature paintings.
With the British influence, the ring began to be worn on the 'ring' finger as well.
This floral ring is one of the few surviving old pieces that I have seen.
Most small pieces of small value are not considered to be worthy of saving,
and are melted along with other small insignificant pieces.
