Ear holes in certain tribes were extended by putting on
gradually increasing weights onto a little girls earlobes.
Large ear holes were considered a mark of beauty.
This pair has an additional loop to attach a chain called kanauti (will be exhibited in the gold gallery)
that goes over the ears to support the earring.
